American Meteorological Society – Project Atmosphere

          Two week training at NWS Training Center in Kansas City, graduate credits – SUNY Brockport (see Ken H. for details)

 

COSEE

          One week excursion on one of the Great Lakes studying aquatic invasive species (see Ken H. for details)

 

NASA – History of Winter (HOW) 2010

          One week in Lake Placid mid-February (2/14/2010 – 2/20/2010).  Work side-by-side with scientists to see how the study of snow and ice are indicators of climate change (see Ken H. for details or contact Katherine Bender at katherinejBender@nasa.gov, (301) 286-2050).

 

Toyota International Teacher Program

          Two weeks to Galapagos, Costa Rica or Japan – all expenses covered (see Jim Brown)

 

Teacher Forestry Tour

          Three days learning about the forestry industry.  Located in various parts of the US, depending on where you live – most, if not all expenses are covered (see Jim Brown)

 

NESEA- Northeast Sustainable Energy Association (K-12 renewable energy ed)

          Offers teacher workshops, curriculum and special programs.  www.nesea.org

 

Junior Solar Sprint

          Model solar car workshops, free for middle school grade 6-8 teachers in NE US.  www.nesea.org/K-12/ or sreyes@nesea.org.  Kids design, build and compete with model solar electric cars.  You can host a workshop as well.

          One week Atlants, Georgia.  PDPs only.  They pay most.  Very intense week – little down time.
