===========================
Dear educators and counselors:
We wanted to alert you that an exciting event - - Computing
Connections - - is now inviting high school sophomores and juniors to
apply for its spring workshop, being held at iRobot on Saturday, May
19, 2012.
The short online application is available here: www.masstechhub.org.
Please share this information with students who may be interested
and encourage them to apply.
Computing Connections is designed to inspire and excite high school
students in career and education pathways in computer technology and
related science and tech fields. During the day-long workshop,
students will have the opportunity to hear from and interact with
different tech industry leaders, including those from iRobot, Google,
and Harmonix (makers of the Guitar Hero and Dance Central video
games). Students will also engage with current college students who
have chosen courses of study in the science and technology fields and
also talk about what real tech jobs are like with young
professionals.
There will also be time to do some hands-on activities.
The workshop is free but space is limited to 70 students. Selected
students will come from across Massachusetts. The application
deadline is May 1. If you or your students have any questions you
can email Jacqueline Grady (grady@masstech.org) and/or Sarah Rahman
(rahman@masstech.org).
Thank you!
Renee Fall, CAITE Program Manager
The Computing Connections Workshop is being organized by members of
the Massachusetts Tech Hub Collaborative, a group of industry, state,
and academic leaders who work together to strengthen the
Massachusetts
Innovation Economy.
