Educators must ensure they are teaching students what they need to
learn. Common Formative Assessments are the most effective way to
learn those needs in order to inform instruction. In this two-day
seminar, teachers and administrators will learn to collaboratively
develop, test, and refine common formative assessments in order to
gain reliable and timely feedback on student progress in order to
 adjust instructional practices appropriately.

Audience: District curriculum leaders, K-12 teachers

Barb Pitchford works with Dr. Douglas Reeves at the Leadership and
Learning Center, where she is a Senior Professional Development
Associate. Barb has been active in school reform for more than
thirty-five years and is a veteran principal of all three levels
(elementary, middle, and high school). She has become a passionate
coach and consultant to principals, understanding the multiple
demands, guiding the change process, and sharing the belief that in
the field of education, leaders must be the lead learners.
