Professional Development Opportunity!
The Museum Institute for Teaching Science announces the 2013
Professional Development Seminar Series.
JANUARY 31st, FEBRUARY 28th and APRIL 4th
January's Seminar will feature:
The Flow of STEM in History: Waterworks A Story of Science,
Engineering and History.
Dr. Beryl Rosenthal Executive Director of the Metropolitan
Waterworks Museum.
Find out about the great scientific and engineering feats required
to bring an ample supply of fresh water to the communities of
Massachusetts. Join Beryl as she shows how to bring STEM principles
to your patrons and students by presenting STEM through the lens of
history. Come and learn how to think of new ways to tell your STEM
history through investigations and exhibits in your institute or
school.
Building a Strong STEM Program Brick by Brick:
Using LEGOS to Teach STEM
Dr. Chris Rogers, Director, Center for Engineering Education and
Outreach and Professor, Department of Mechanical Engineering, Tufts
University.
Interested in immersing yourself in a hands-on STEM workshop?
Learn to use LEGO building blocks to create interactive projects
that will teach STEM principals and inspire students to learn more!
You will come away from this presentation with novel ideas on how
to use these building blocks to build exciting and fun STEM
activities and projects for both public programs and classrooms.
When: January 28th, 9:30 - 3:30
Where: Higgins University Center, Clark University, Worcester, MA
