Conference News-email
Greetings;
I hope you are making plans to attend and take part in MassTEC
conference, which is less than three weeks from today (Friday, October
16th).
We welcome all STEM teachers and educators from all over the region to come
together to share the enthusiasm, ideas, and support.
Board members have been hard at work since last March to bring you a
conference that will relate to what you do in your classroom. Nate Ball,
the dynamic host of the PBS show The Design Squad, will be our keynote
speaker.
We have arranged for 14 workshops, multiple vendors and a nationally known
conference speaker. Workshop presenters include classroom teachers, college
professors, Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education
(DESE) staff and vendor representatives. Each will offer you something
that will make your day worthwhile.
We have high school teachers who will explain how to implement a full
technology/engineering program, college professors who will talk about how
to receive free classroom materials and how to further your education at the
graduate level. DESE staff will report on the latest MCAS test information
and the work being done on the revision the Science and
Technology/Engineering Framework. The vendors will display the latest and
best materials and books available for STEM education programs.
Please take time to see all that the vendors have to offer and speak with
them during the conference.
On behalf of the MassTEC Board, we look forward to seeing you in October.
Charlie Corley, DTE
