STEM Ed Announcement: Mathematics Learning Community webinar Dec. 16th

There will be a 90 minute webinar presenting the Mathematics Learning
Commuinty materials developed by the Regional Scienec Resource Center at
UMASS Medical School at the James J. Kaput Center for Research and
Innovation in STEM Education (Science, Technology, engineering and
Mathematics)   The presentation is December 16 from 3:30-5:00.     The
materials serve as the PLC component of the Intel Mathematics Initiative
and are supported by the Massachusetts Department of Elemantary and
Secondary Education.    They serve as a framework for teachers to have
conversations about student learning and the development of students
ideas as they are expressed in their written work.   To view the

Here is the  information about the Dec.16th webinar.  Go to the website,
www.kaputcenter.umassd.edu.  There will be a link on the main page for
the live stream of the MLC presentation that day.  You will need windows
media to run it.   Materials and student work will be posted on the
Kaput website for download prior to the event in case people want to see
the student work and follow along with the people who are attending
live.  Also, there will be a blog and a way for you to interact with the
participants who are attending as well as as ask questions of the
presenter about the materials and the student work.

Please feel free to pass this along to your networks or to teachers or
school districts that you know who may be interested.  You can
participate either live at the Kaput Center (go to the about web address
for directions and an abstract of the talk {click on events}) or online
on December 16.
