STEM Ed Announcement: UMass Boston Urban Scholars Fall Employment Opportunities

 Urban Scholars Program
 After School Employment Opportunities
 ***NOW RECRUITING for FALL Semester***
 September 20th â?? December 10th:12 weeks
 
 HIGH SCHOOL
 Tuesdays & Thursdays 3:30-5:30PM (4 hrs. weekly commitment) 
 Salary:  $2160.00
 INSTRUCT HIGH SCHOOL LEVEL Courses
 Propose a Hands on Project Based Course			
 Math: Algebra, Geometry, Statistics, Economics, Etc.
 ELA: Critical thinking, classic novels, Modern Novels, Etc.
 History: Geography, African American History, Etc.
 Other: *SAT Prep. (Eng. & math), Humanities, Art, Health, Etc.
 
 During the semesters, each course focuses on one overarching project 
 that guides the content and skills you want your students to learn and 
 apply. Students may work in groups or individually on the class project. 
 Former projects have included booklets of student writing, public 
 service announcements, and a scaled model of a city built using specific 
 algebra and geometry guidelines, to name a few. Class projects will be 
 presented at the end of the semester; former projects have been 
 presented through display boards, PowerPoint, live readings, plays, 
 physical models and demonstrations.
 
 MIDDLE SCHOOL
 Tuesdays & Thursdays 4:00-5:30PM (3 hrs. weekly commitment) 
 Salary:  $2160.00
 INSTRUCT MIDDLE SCHOOL LEVEL Courses
 Math or Science subject matter 
 Math: 			Pre-algebra, algebra 
 Green Science:		Environmental, Biology, Zoology, Oceanography, Chemistry, Etc. 
 ELA:			Modern novels, writing skills, Etc.
 History:		Geography, African American History, Etc.
 Other:			Humanities, Social Science, Etc.
 
 Application Process: 	DEADLINE: Open until Filled
 
 Interested persons should submit: only COMPLETE applications will be considered
 1.A Resume
 2.Detail Syllabus for High School OR Middle School level
 
 Class Proposal(s) need to include the following information: Course 
 title, Main idea topic(s), Procedures, Grade (s) level preferred, 
 Subject of course, Prerequisites of students, Goals, Week by week 
 outline, Evaluation / Assessment, Instructional aids materials or tools 
 references, Over overarching class project, Other
