SCIENCE MAPPING WORKSHOP FOR INFORMAL SCIENCE EDUCATORS from AAAS Project 2061
WHAT: â??Using Atlas of Science Literacy in Informal Science Learning Settingsâ??
WHERE: American Museum of Natural History, New York, NY
WHEN: November 10-12, 2010
For some new perspectives on making your programs and exhibits more
relevant to K-12 teachers and students, join AAAS Project 2061â??s
workshop designed especially for science center and museum staff who
work with school-based audiences. Youâ??ll learn how to use the Atlas of
Science Literacy progression-of-understanding maps and other Project
2061 resources to view your programs and exhibits through a new lens.
Project 2061â??s two-volume Atlas is an innovative resource that presents
nearly 100 strand maps that display conceptual, developmental, and
thematic connections among the ideas and skills that all students should
learn as they make progress toward science literacy. Project 2061 was
founded in 1985 by the American Association for the Advancement of
Science (AAAS) to help all Americans become literate in science,
mathematics, and technology.
Scholarships and Early Bird rates are available, but registration is
limited. For more details and a registration form, please visit our
workshop information page.
