Project Learning Tree and the Asian Longhorned Beetle, K-8 Educator
Workshop.
Wednesday, August 24, 9:00 a.m. 3:30 p.m., DCR Wachusett Reservoir Water
Supply Regional Office, 180 Beaman Street (Route 140), West Boylston, MA
Project Learning Tree is an award-winning, teacher-friendly curriculum,
focusing on trees and forests and integrated across subject areas.
The Asian Longhorned Beetle is an invasive insect pest that has
devastated entire neighborhoods in Worcester and surrounding towns, by
destroying many of their trees. The ALB and other insect pests are
responsible for the statewide ban on moving firewood.
This workshop combines PLT and ALB through participation in activities
and discussion in a collegial setting and applying lessons to educators
specific situations.
Receive the 96-activity PLT Curriculum Guide, ALB resources,
complementary morning refreshments, and six to ten PD hours after completing
workshop requirements. $20. Dress for time spent indoors and out, and
please bring a lunch.
