Bio-Tech Summer Camp for Middle School Girls -- In a all-female summer camp, middle school girls extracted DNA from strawberries and their own cheek cells, interpreted blood and DNA samples at a simulated crime scene, used UV beads to investigate the effects of sunlight and tanning, performed the ELISA HIV test to learn about antibodies and antigens.  Each student created and presented a scientific poster on her favorite project at a culminating event for parents.
