Junior Achievment's curriculum highlights seven key areas: business, citizenship, entrepreneurship, financial literacy, character/ethics, and career exploration. JA's fifth grade program highlights careers and skills surrounding STEM. The Workforce Readiness & Career Prep project highlights the skills, education and career opportunities available to young people in western Massachusetts. JA is a volunteer-driven organization and our programs are delivered by local business people and stress the importance of education and selecting successful career pathways. The Workforce Readiness & Career Prep project involves several JA programs including JA Economics for Success, JA Success Skills, JA Job Shadow and JA High School Heroes. The goal of the program is to involve students in a variety of educational programs designed to help them choose a career pathway and to understand the skills and education they will need to become successful in the future. The program is designed to improve local graduation rates by having the students interact with local business leaders, while showcasing the career opportunities available for the students here in western Massachusetts.
