STEM Ed Announcement: Project Learning Tree Workshops

 Just in time for Spring, the Massachusetts Department of Conservation and
 Recreation is hosting three Project Learning Tree Workshops at various
 locations in the state.  Teachers appreciate the collegial nature of the
 workshops and the flexibility of the curriculum.  Certificates of Completion
 awarded; pdp's may be earned.  
  
  - Wednesday, April 22 (vacation week),  PreK-8 Curriculum,  Forest Ecology
  - Focus for upper elementary and middle school educators, 9:00  a.m.  1:00
  - p.m.  DCR Regional Office, South New South Mountain Road (off of Route
  - 7), Pittsfield, MA.  $20.  Please pre-register by April 18;

      Receive the PreK-8 Curriculum Guide with nearly 100 hands-on; minds-on
 activities that connect with topics in Science, English Language Arts, Math,
 and Social Studies. 
 
  
 
  - Saturday, April 25 (vacation week),  PreK-8 Curriculum,  10:00 a.m.  2:00
  - p.m.  Borderland State Park Visitor Center, Massapoag Avenue, Easton, MA. 
  - $20.  Please pre-register by April 21; Gini.Traub@state.ma.us,

      The curriculum includes nearly 100 hands-on; minds-on activities that
 connect with topics in Science, English Language Arts, Math, and Social

  - Saturday, May 2,  Early Childhood Experiences Module [PreK-K],  9:00 a.m. 
  - 12:30 p.m.  Blue Meadow Conference Center, Quabbin Reservoir, 485 Ware
  - Road (Route 9), Belchertown, MA.  $15.  Please pre-register by April 25;

      This module, written for PreK-K educators, emphasizes developing
 awareness of and connections with the natural world by building on whats
 familiar to our young learners.  Its format is a variety of self-guided and
 teacher-led activities that follow a typical pre-school day.
