 Massachusetts Summer Bootstrap Workshop
 
 August 10 - 12, 2015
 
  
 
 Thanks to the generous support of facebook and Exploring Computing
 Education Pathways Alliance (ECEP), MassCAN is pleased to announce a
 three-day Bootstrap workshop for Massachusetts math and computer
 science/technology teachers!  
 
  Earn 21 Hours of Math PDPs for a cost of 25.00.*
 
  
 
 What is Bootstrap?
 
 Bootstrap is a curricular module for students ages 12-16, which teaches
 algebraic and geometric concepts through computer programming. At the
 end of the module, students have a completed workbook filled with word
 problems, notes and math challenges, as well as a videogame of their
 own design, which they can share with friends and family. You can learn

 What will I learn?
 
 The interactive 3 day workshop will be taught by Emma Youndtsmith and
 Rosanna Sobota, Regional Managers of Bootstrap. During the workshop you
 will:
 See the curriculum in action
 Explore the research and pedagogy of Bootstrap
 Investigate the cognitive challenges for students struggling with
 Algebra
 Take a deep dive into the activities and technology with a master
 teacher
 Arm yourself with the tools to advocate for Bootstrap in your school or
 school district
 Go home with a videogame that you created!
