 Call for Presenters NOW OPEN!
 MAST Conference
Science in the World Around Us!
November 3 - 4 2016, Boxborough, MA

The conference committee for the 2016 Annual MAST Conference is
pleased to announce the launch

 of the 2016 Call for Presenters. Building upon the success of last
year's conference and feedback

 from our membership this years conference is Science in the World
Around Us!

We are thrilled to welcome Page Keeley as our 2016 Keynote Speaker!
 PAGE KEELEY is an internationally known leader in science education.
She is the developer and primary author of the Uncovering Student
Ideas Series in Science and the Formative Assessment- 75 Practical
Strategies Linking Assessment, Instruction, and Learning series (the
"FACTs books"). Her interest in conceptual change and formative
assessment began in 1992 after reading the seminal article, Teaching
for Conceptual Change- Confronting Children's Experience by Bruce
Watson and Dick Konicek. Her assessment probes and FACTs (formative
assessment classroom techniques) are widely used by K-12 teachers,
university professors, and professional development and science
specialists throughout the U.S. and internationally.


Review of the applications will begin on May 31, 2016. The conference
committee will contact selected presenters by July 20, 2016.
Presentations will be scheduled to ensure that a wide variety of
professional development offerings appealing to a a cross-section of
attendees are available during each time slot on Thursday and Friday.

The 2016 Annual MAST Conference will be held at the Holiday Inn,
Boxborough on November 3rd and 4th, 2016. Please feel free to share
this call for presenters with colleagues and other professional
associations.
