Digital Arts Summer Programs
Bay Path University has collaborated with Black Rocket to bring STEM programs for your child this summer. No experience needed.
Black Rocket and Bay Path will provide everything you need on the campus. Your child will learn the 6 pillars of learning, creativity, technology, make it yourself, peer learning, 21st century skills, in these project based programs. All programs except Girl Gamers will be open to boys and girls, ages 8-14 and will be split into age groups. The weekly programs will run July 11 through August 5 and include Minecraft® Designers, Make Your First Video Game, Girl Gamers and App Attack.
July 11-15 – Minecraft® Designers
July 18-22 – Make Your First Video Game
July 25-29 – Girl Gamers
August 1-5 - App Attack
Dive into making your own apps, just like the ones you’d see on the App Store!
Using a specialized app & game development tool, students will explore the world of web-based (HTML5) mobile apps. In addition to learning the basics of mobile app design and game development, you will also see firsthand how the world of App publishing functions. Student-created apps will be accessible on a private site and can be played on any mobile device or computer. No prior experience is necessary and students do not need to own a smartphone or tablet to take the class.
Why should boys have all the fun? There's plenty of exciting games that girls can make in this course!
Hang out with friends, have fun, and learn key S.T.E.M. skills in this one of a kind class! Candy Crush, Facebook, and Instagram were all built by people who understand the foundations of design and technology. In this class, learn the basic elements of 2D Game Design. Each day will have a tech challenge and a profile of the female stars of the tech world. Student games will be available on a Black Rocket website to share with friends and family.
Make Your First Video Game!
Create your first platformer video game using characters that you choose!
If you love playing video games, this is the camp for you! Make your first video game in this one-of-a-kind class that shows you the keys to designing your first 2D platformer game. Conceptualization, play experience, challenge levels, graphics, sounds, and simple coding are just some of the concepts that we’ll explore. No prior experience is necessary, just a desire to have fun. Student created games will be available on a password protected Black Rocket website to share with friends and family.
Fill a Minecraft® world with your own custom designs and creations!
If you love the game Minecraft®, but always wanted to design your own characters and buildings for your games, this class is for you! Learn the basics of creating 3D models using new software to design your very own objects, create skins for characters, and import them into your favorite Minecraft® games. To access their project at home students, must own a PC/MAC version of Minecraft®. Tablet, phone, and game console version of Minecraft® are not compatible.

1:00 p.m.- 4:00 p.m. – 11-14 year old boys and girls
$150 per attendee per session. No discounts for multiple courses.
