Could you please post the information about the STEM Club to the list?
The STEM Club @ WPI
The STEM Club meets four times during the academic year and is open to all current and aspiring STEM educators of grades 4-12.
Upcoming meeting: Wednesday, November 2, 3:30-6:30 at WPI
The first session presents integrated & standard-based STEM PD which demonstrates how Assistive Technology (AT) is an ideal topic for cross-curricular activities in a diverse range of subjects. The workshop opens with a review of the 6 elements for high quality STEM experiences and continue to provide hands-on challenge with designing and building a prototype that addresses a specific disability. STEM Club participants work in teams to design, create, and present their prototype, and then make connections between the AT project and their own grade level S/T/E/M standards. Participants also exchange ideas about similar projects they have done with students.
Location: Higgins Labs 202, WPI (map an parking pass will be emailed to participants).
Presenters: Rick Connell, Mia Dubosarsky – The STEM Education Center at WPI
